Traditional desalination plants are heavily criticized for pumping toxic, hyper-saline brine back into the ocean, devastating local marine ecosystems. At ThalaCast, we do not view brine as waste; we view it as a high-value raw material. Our facility operates on a strict Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) mandate, acting as a complete Ocean Refinery where 100% of the intake is utilized for life support, heavy industry, and agriculture.
Ocean water is first routed through our advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane arrays. The clean permeate (freshwater) is sent directly to our municipal water towers, which split the supply into three vital community arteries:
The remaining concentrate—the heavy salt brine—is never routed back to the sea. Instead, it is piped into our ZLD Thermal Crystallizers, powered by our massive solar surplus. As the brine boils, the escaping vapor is captured and condensed into ultra-pure distilled water.
This distilled water is used for perfectly tuned agriculture and Hydrogen/Oxygen production.
Through mechanical separation, we extract high-value minerals to be used in our advanced Sorel cement composites and customized agricultural fertilizers.
The salt is routed next door to the ThalaBlock Manufactory. Here, we press bricks of salt and encapsulate them with a geopolymer makeup fusing them into certified-safe, ultra-dense building blocks.
